STEPS

  1. Find your new best friend in our Adoptable Dogs and Adoptable Cats tab! If you have questions about a pet, please email adoption@landerpets.org or call 307-330-5200.

  2. The Lander Pet Connection’s Adoption Questionnaire is available above. Please fill out a questionnaire completely to start the adoption process. A team member will be in touch with you shortly to chat about your perfect match!

  3. Come to the shelter to meet the adoptable pets, bring a collar, leash or cat carrier if you plan to take someone home!

  4. Take your new family member home.

*We require all adopters to foster their chosen dog (does not apply to cats) for at least one day/night and up to one week prior to adoption to ensure a great fit! We can finalize the adoption remotely, so long distance is no problem. For cats, we allow a trial period of one week prior to committing to adoption, we realize that it takes time to adjust!

**Our adult animal adoption fees are calculated based on the length of stay of the animal. This is in effort to remove barriers to get these animals who need it most into loving homes as quickly as possible.

Please be prepared to pay your pet’s adoption fee with credit card - if that isn’t an option we prefer cash. Thank you!

Dog Adoption - $25-$125

Puppy Adoption (6 months or younger) - $175

Cat Adoption - $25-$50 (with a two for the price of one special)

Kitten Adoption - $75 (two kittens for $100)

Adoption fees include shots to keep/bring immunization up to date, dewormer, spay/neuter, microchip and any additional care the pet has required during their stay at LPC. All animals who pass through our doors will have a vet check prior to going home.

We alter ALL animals regardless of age as a measure to battle the rampant overpopulation of pets nationwide, and needless euthanasia of dogs and cats due to the lack of enough homes. Thank you for understanding that this is the standard for shelters set by the Association of Shelter Veterinarians, and it is widely practiced among ethical shelters and rescues.

Please Note

  • The Lander Pet Connection cannot guarantee the breed, composition or ages of our animals as we usually have very little history prior to them entering the rescue.

  • Our intention is to ensure long lasting, committed and loving homes for all animals at LPC. If we feel that an animal and a potential owner are not a good fit, we reserve the right to deny an adoption.

Please email any questions or for more information to adoption@landerpets.org. You may also call us at 307-330-5200.

We are open to the public Tuesday through Friday, 1-5 and Saturday from 9-1. Thank you so much for considering a Lander Pet Connection animal and saving a life!
